How to befriend
the dragon of children’s emotions
A seminar for adults who have children in their lives
About the seminar
There are moments when a child’s emotions feel
overwhelming — when nothing seems to work, words don’t help, and we find ourselves reacting just as strongly. In those moments, it can feel like facing a dragon: big, intense, and hard to handle.
We will explore
-
Why children’s emotions can affect us so deeply
-
Whether it’s possible to feel “too much”
-
How to stay connected to a child while navigating intense emotions
What you’ll take with you:
A clearer understanding of what lies behind a child’s behaviour,
and practical ways to support both yourself and the child in emotionally charged moments.
Format: A mix of theory, discussion, and play.
Available in person or online.
Duration: 2 hours

The maze of emotions and behaviour
A reflective, game-based workshop
for adults who have children in their lives
About the workshop
There are moments with children that can feel confusing, intense, or overwhelming —
when reactions happen quickly, and it’s hard to understand what is really going on.
In this workshop, we use a game-based format to explore everyday situations that can feel challenging or triggering.
Moving through the maze, we will take time to notice:
-
what is happening for the child
-
what is being stirred in us
-
why certain moments may feel particularly triggering
-
how we might respond in ways that support both the child and the relationship
What you’ll take with you
-
A deeper understanding of the emotional dynamics behind behaviour
-
Greater awareness of your own responses and inner triggers
-
A more grounded and compassionate relationship with your own emotions
-
Practical ways of responding without losing connection
Format: in person
Duration: 2 hours
