Wednesday creative club (in English)

A creative journey through music, emotions, stories and art, where children become explorers, investigate the world around them and  discover new ways to listen to music, to feel and to express themselves.
Two programmes that alternate every other Wednesday
@ Art Atelier Plaqubiere,  33 Rue de Ribeauville, Strasbourg

Music Through Time

with Yuly Bulatov, a musician trained at the Conservatory of Colmar, France.  In his work with children he creates engaging, accessible ways for young learners to discover music.

Join the "Institute of Musical Time" and investigate the mysterious journeys of melodies from the past to the present.

How did a medieval melody find its way into modern K-pop? Why does a popular song suddenly sound a little like music written hundreds of years ago? Can you hear Beethoven in rap?

Every session is a new musical mystery to solve. We will listen, compare, look for connections and follow musical clues as we travel across different eras and genres.

Code of Emotion

with Natasha Ravdina, a teacher, counsellor and facilitator working with adults and children. Her approach combines psychological exploration with stories, creativity and art, creating space for children to explore their inner worlds with curiosity.

Ready to crack the code of emotions? Why do we get angry? What does fear feel like? Where does sadness come from — and can it suddenly turn into something else?

Over six sessions, we’ll take a closer look at six different emotions. We’ll use stories, film scenes, games and conversations to explore what happens inside us when emotions show up. We'll see how one feeling can change into another and we’ll use drawing, movement, words and art to find our own ways of expressing what we feel.

Along the way, each child will create their own Emotional Field Guide — filling it with ideas, drawings, characters and stories.

When: Wednesdays, 10:00–12:00, 16 September – 16 December (5+5 sessions)

Group size: 4–8 children

Language: English

Age: 8–10 years

Where: Art Studio Plaquière, 33 rue de Ribeauvillé, Strasbourg

Cost: €270 per participant (10 sessions * 2 hours each, all materials are provided). Discounts available for families.
